Those things may describe you, but they don’t define you. Your true identity is found in Christ Jesus.

No matter what your current season looks like—whether you feel steady or completely shaken—God’s Word is a steady place to return to. It tells us who we are when the world tries to rename us. It reminds us that we are not forgotten. We are not failing. We are not too far gone. We are children of God, created with love, called with purpose, and covered by the grace of God.

You have been made righteous—not because of your performance, but because of God’s grace. Through the blood of Christ, you’ve been redeemed, restored, and made new. You don’t have to strive for it. You just have to receive it.

Here’s what the Word of God says:

Ephesians 2:6 (NIV):
“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.”

That means right now—as you read this—you are spiritually seated with Christ. Not one day. Not just when you feel worthy. But now. That’s your new identity. Through your relationship with Jesus, you’ve been raised above fear, shame, and defeat. You’ve been given a place of authority and grace in the heavenly realm as part of God’s Kingdom.

Ephesians 1:3 (NIV):
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.”

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

This isn’t about striving—it’s about showing up. Living in the light of your new identity in Christ. When you walk in love, serve others, speak truth, or show kindness in hard moments, you are doing more than you know. Your good works don’t point to you—they point to Him.

Philippians 2:15 (NIV):
“So that you may become blameless and pure, ‘children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.’ Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.”
